Public Cooperation in Preventing and Resolving Drug Problems within the Responsibility Area of Phetkasem Metropolitan Police Station

This study aimed to: 1) examine public cooperation in preventing and resolving drug problems within the area under the responsibility of Phetkasem Metropolitan Police Station; and 2) compare the level of public cooperation in preventing and resolving drug problems according to personal factors. This study employed a quantitative research design. The sample consisted of 395 residents aged 18 years and over who lived within the responsibility area of Phetkasem Metropolitan Police Station. The sample size was determined using Yamane’s (1967) formula, and participants were selected through accidental sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, an independent-samples t-test, and one-way analysis of variance (One-Way ANOVA).
The findings revealed that:
1. The overall level of public cooperation in preventing and resolving drug problems was moderate. When each aspect was considered separately, all aspects were also at a moderate level. The evaluation aspect had the highest mean score, followed by the planning aspect and the implementation aspect, respectively; and
2. Respondents with different genders, ages, marital statuses, educational levels, occupations, and income levels differed significantly in their levels of cooperation in preventing and resolving drug problems at the .05 level of statistical significance.
