Development of Curriculum Management Model for Extra Large - Sized Secondary Schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office

Abstract

The purposes of this research and development were to 1) study the problems concerning the Development of  Curriculum Management Model for Extra Large -Sized  Secondary School under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Nakhon Pathom, 2) design and create a model to promote the morale in teacher performance, 3) evaluate the promoting morale model, 4) compare the effects of before and after experiment, and 5) evaluate the effectiveness, efficiency, and value of the promoting morale model. The population comprised  10 schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Nakhon Pathom, with 4 respondents from each school; the deputy director, course supervisor, head of the learning group, and head of student development activities, totaling 40 respondents. The experiment was conducted at  Sriwichaiwithaya School. A questionnaire on the current state of curriculum management problem,An evaluation form for the opinion questionnaire, The curriculum management model, An evaluation form for the curriculum management model,An experimental action plan for the curriculum management model, A pre-test and post-test evaluation form for the curriculum management model implementation, An evaluation form for the pre-test and post-test assessment tool, An evaluation form for the efficiency, effectiveness, and value of the curriculum management model and An evaluation form for the efficiency, effectiveness, and value assessment tool. The reliability of the instruments was confirmed using content validity, with an Index of Consistency (IOC). Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test dependent, and content analysis. Qualitative data analysis using content analysis.

The findings revealed that:

The research findings revealed that: 1) the problems concerning curriculum management at a high level, 2) the constructed model, composed of planning, designing, implementing, supervision and evaluation, named the PDIS Model. 3) the evaluation of the model yielded an IOC value ranging from 0.80 to 1.00. 4) A comparison of pre-and post-test results demonstrated a statistically significant improvement at the .01 level. 5) the model was rated the highest levels in effectiveness, efficiency, and value. It is recommended that school administrators should adopt this model to curriculum management and improve both the efficiency and effectiveness of their work performance.
