A Study of Results of Activities Learning by using Team Games Tournament toward Mathematics Learning on Similarity of Matthayomsuksa 3 Students

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to: 1) study mathematical learning achievement of the students through Team Games Tournament (TGT) 2) study satisfaction of learning mathematics through Team Games Tournament (TGT) and 3) study retention of mathematical learning of the students through Team Games Tournament (TGT). The samples included in 39 students of Matthayomsuksa 3 academic year 2019 at Chanpradittaram Wittayakom School selected by using purposive sampling and on mixed ability class basis. The instruments used in data collection involved 4 TGT lesson plans, 20 items of 4-multiple choice mathematical achievement test on Similarity and 10 items of the satisfaction questionnaire of learning through Team Games Tournament (TGT) on Similarity. The data were statistically analyzed by using mean, standard deviation and t-test for dependent sample.

The results of the research were as follows.

1. The post-learning mathematical achievement of Matthayomsuksa 3 students through Team Games Tournament (TGT) was higher than its counterpart at .05 level of significance.
2. The satisfaction of learning mathematics through Team Games Tournament (TGT) of Matthayomsuksa 3 students was at the high level,
3. The Matthayomsuksa 3 students had retained their mathematical knowledge for 2 weeks after learning through Team Games Tournament (TGT).
