Creating an online learning management model with an active learning process to promote knowledge management abilities of undergraduate students.

Abstract

This research aims to define components and sketch prototypes online learning management model using active learning to promote the knowledge management ability of undergraduate students and evaluate components and create an online learning management model using active learning to advance the knowledge management ability of undergraduate students. Two sample groups are 1) a group of 29 samples who specified the components and drafted the model of learning management, including academicians, teachers, and students, and 2) a group of 15 samples who evaluated the components and created the model of learning management. The samples were selected using the purposive sampling technique. The semi-structured interview and the evaluation form to assess the components and draft the learning management model were used as the research tools. The statistics used were the Index of Item Objective Congruence (IOC), Median (Mdn), and Interquartile Range (IQR).

          From the research results, the developed model of learning management was based on 7 principles: active learning management, online learning management, authentic assessment, online learning tools, cooperative learning, knowledge management process, and system approach. The objective of learning management is to promote the knowledge management ability of undergraduate students. The knowledge management process consists of 5 steps: 1) Knowledge identification 2) Knowledge acquisition 3) Knowledge organization 4) Knowledge transfer and 5) Knowledge sharing and application. For authentic assessment and evaluation, the developed instructional method was assessed and evaluated by the experts, and it is considered the most appropriate and possible.
