Reducing the Waste of Unloading Process from Warehouse by ECRS principle. Case Study: Customs Agent, ABC Limited Company

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to reduce waste in the process of loading and unloading products from the warehouse. Due to the delay and repetition of work, the department that takes the next step is affected. Based on the problems above, the researcher has explored, searched, and collected data by studying the theories of flow diagrams and flow process charts of the import customs clearance agency. It was found that there were 19 steps in total. After that, the researcher used the Fishbone Diagram to analyze the cause of the problem. Then, brainstorming of 3-7 people was involved in sharing their opinions, finding solutions to problems, and improving the operational procedures with ECRS principles. It was found that there were 19 operational steps before the improvement. After the improvement, there were 17 steps decreased by 2 steps, representing 10.53%. The period before the improvement was 4,725.88 seconds. After the improvement, the period was 3492.73 seconds, decreased by 1,233.15 seconds or 26.09 percent, which can increase the department's work efficiency and increase customer satisfaction and credibility.
