The purpose of this research was to study the multiple relationships between academic amotivation of which variables include academic achievement, self-alienation, and social support; and to formulate the academic amotivation of the ninth grade students of Thungsuklapittaya “Krungthai Anukroh” School. The population (N = 300) is the ninth grade students of Thungsuklapittaya “Krungthai Anukroh” School. The samples (n = 169) were derived by a multi-stage random sampling (Krejcie & Morgan, 1970) from the ninth grade students of Thungsuklapittaya “Krungthai Anukroh” School in the academic year 2022. The research instrument was a questionnaire. Data were analyzed with mean, standard deviation, correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. The results showed that self-alienation (X2) had a positive relationship with academic amotivation, and academic achievement and social support had a negative relationship with academic amotivation at the .01 significant level. In addition, the data from multiple regression analysis revealed that self-alienation and social support can be predictors for the academic amotivation at the .01 significant level. These variables are accounted for 43% of the total variance. The predictive equations for academic amotivation were as follows:
The equation in the form of raw scores:
Y’ = 1.90 - .30(X1) + .55(X2)
The equation in the form of standard scores:
Z’y = - .27(ZX1) + .58(ZX2)
