The Effect of the COVID-19 Vaccine to Russia’s International Status

The aim of this article is to study the national interests and role of Russia in the international political arena in vaccine diplomacy of the COVID-19 vaccine case. The pandemic of COVID-19 affects to all aspects of political, economic, and including society. The vaccine is an essential tool for prevent the spread of disease and solved the related problems. Russia became the first nation to find and to register the COVID-19 vaccine, Sputnik V. Russia also wants to distribute this vaccine to help the other countries. The results show that Russia get greatly benefits from his vaccine diplomacy both economic, geopolitics and enhancing of Russian’s country image. As a result, Russia plays an increasingly important role in the international political arena. It makes Russia be a leadership in medical sciences innovation, step up to take a leading role in many parts of the world and has more bargaining power.
