10 Levels System to Melodic Improvisation by Lee Konitz
Abstract
This article presents the concept in thematic improvisation by Lee Konitz. The study revealed that Konitz explains the creation of the improvisation with the development of the melodic line divided into 10 levels. Konitz categorized improvisation into 4 sequences: interpretation, embellishment, variation and improvisation.
