A Study of Contemporary Music Case Study of “Love in Spring” by Chaibhuk Bhutrachinda

Abstract

           This research study the concept and analyzing the arrangement technic of contemporary music. The case study of the song “Love in spring” by Mr. Chaibhuk Bhutrachinda. This song is Number 20 of Royal Compositions by King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Study the concept and inspiration for song creation, Scale, Tonality, Range, Pitch Tuning, Musical Form, Tone Color, Harmony and study the composing process of the song using a computer.

            The study found that the arrangement using in the song is 3/4 ratio which is the signature of the song. The concept of musical instrument arrangement in the song is lightweight and continuously. Moreover, using the main instrument called ‘Khlui' to represent the wind. the melody in the key tonality using Bb major (Bb, Eb) in comparison to the original work is lower by 1 key to conserve the original sound of Khlui. The musical form is Strophic Form but repeat 2 times and create a new introduced and new interlude between a song, conducted using the four-part harmony with Polyphony as the musical texture, focusing on sound mixing process making the four-part harmony to have different high–low noise throughout the song resulting in balancing the sound of the song.
