Songwriting for Cultivating Morality and Ethics in the Demonstration School of Phuket Rajabhat University

Abstract

            The research objectives were to the musical ideas in songwriting and create new songs for using as a media in cultivating morality and ethics to students in the Demonstration School of Phuket Rajabhat University by studying sampling group of 40 students. The research tools are 30 items of the pretest and the posttest and satisfaction survey forms about musical ideas in the composition of four songs, which are hard-working and honest, saving and discipline, harmony and generosity, and polite and clean.

           The research found that in songwriting for cultivating morality and ethics, the researcher has an idea of using the core contents of eight morality and ethics in the lyrics and melody and the music arrangement as a String Combo.In musical arrangement analysis, the role of each musical instrument provided sound which harmonized with the main melody and the composed songs were used as a media in Citizenship subject.The result of satisfaction survey about songwriting ideas was the most satisfied (77.50%), and very satisfied came second (15.00%). An evaluation of the pretest and the posttest, obviously posttest result was higher than pretest. The pretest and the posttest results were significantly at .05.
