“Seangsan” for Mixed Ensemble Thai and Jazz Music

Abstract

          “Seangsan” for Mixed Ensemble Thai and Jazz Music, is aimed to create a new composition which uses the concept of Thai and Jazz music elements to publish
the mixture of Thai and Jazz music via online platform. The results of the research showed that 1) The composition has 12 minutes long and is in the key of A major. It can be divided into 3 parts; part one “Seangsan sam chan”, part two “Seangsan song chan” and part three “Seangsan chan dio”. 2) The composer creates innovative music by combining the concept of Thai and Jazz music element for the mixed Thai and international instrument band by tuning some of the pitches of an international instrument toward Thai’s instruments. The piece uses horizontal harmony throughout the composition to present Thai and Jazz music accents by having an international and Thai instruments perform an improvisation in each part of the composition. And 3) Publish the piece to the public via online platform.
