Abstract

        This research paper aims to study the folk song of Sra Kathiam for the process of the vocal folk song creation. The researcher used a qualitative research method in this creation. The results of the study were as follows. 1) The study of 3 songs of Sra Kathiam including 1. Phuang Malai is the poem prosody under the content of retort song. 2. Prob Kai the content describes about patriotism and used the melody of Sri Nuan song. And 3. Hae Nang Maew is have an unstable poem prosody, the melody moving on tonal inflection. The content describes about the lifestyle of locals. 2) Create the composition of Sra Kathiam suite in choral style. The song is separate for 3 movements including 1. Overture 2. Ballade and 3. Finale in the form of fast-slow-fast.
