Abstract

The school library is a crucial learning source in a school. It plays the role in supporting the instruction and learning for learners in the 21st century. School libraries are evolving into learning laboratories or libratories. They provide the learning environments for supporting student’s learning and innovative thinking. The paper presents about school libraries in the 21st century in terms of the concept of modern school library, school library in the concept of learning commons, roles of libratorians, the development of school library, and school library media specialists and their roles.
