Preparedness of Library and Information Services in New Normal: Thai Libraries Experience.

Abstract

   The coronavirus disease outbreak 2019 (Coronavirus Disease 2019: Covid-19) has led to adaptation to a new way of life (New Normal), especially for educational institutions that are unable to provide normal teaching and learning. It is necessary to use an online teaching and learning model. Libraries as a main source of support for teaching and research of educational institutions, the library has to be managed and changed in a new way to serve as online. To support the security measures in the Covid-19 epidemic in various areas: 1) the physical aspects of the library, including the design of the library spaces and facilities. Closing the library service area Screening and epidemic prevention Opening of library service areas 2) Library information resources 3) Personnel and operations 4) Service organization and library promotion activities 5) Communication with clients in a new way and 6) Support and providing services from library partners, the situation of the Covid-19epidemic. It is an opportunity and challenge for the university libraries to have management to be able to meet the needs of library customers in a new way of life.
