An Operation to Develop Questioning Skills through the 7Es Inquiry Cycle Teaching Method in Health Studies and Physical Studies for Prathom Suksa Six Students of the School Network Group 23 Laosuaekolk under the Ubon Ratchathani Primary Educational Service Area Office 1

Abstract

The research aimed to 1) study an operation to develop skills in using the questions through the 7Es inquiry cycle  teaching approach in the subject of health studies and physical studies for Prathom Suksa six students, 2) compare the achievement of the experimental group with the set criterion, and 3) compare the achievement before and after the operation to develop the skills in questioning between the experimental group and the control group.   

The samples were 23 Prathom Suksa six students of Ban Taemai School under the Ubon Ratchathani Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 in the school year 2013.  Instrument used in a learning management were six lesson plans based on the 7Es inquiry cycle, using the questions, the exercises at the end of the lesson plans, the achievement test, the teachers’ daily record.  Quantitative data were analyzed by the use of basic statistics and t-test.

The research findings were as follows :

1. The operation for developing the skills in questioning using the questions through the 7Es inquiry cycle.
2. Considering the outcomes of the operation for developing the skills in questioning, the students had the average scores of 84.84%.  They passed the set criterion.
3. By comparing with the achievement of the experimental group and that of the control group, it was found that the experimental students had a higher achievement than the control students with a statistical significance of .01.
