The Development of Moral Characteristics in Young Children by the Use of Moral Fables Storytelling Experiential Management in Anuban Wipawee School in Bueng Kan Province

The objectives of this study to develop an experiential management plan and to observe the moral characteristics of young children by the use of moral fables storytelling experiential management in Anuban Wipawee School in Bueng Kan Province. Sample group comprised 19 young children in kindergarten class 3/1 in the 2nd semester of the academic year B.E. 2563 (2020), selected with purposive sampling. Tools employed were (1) 10 moral fables for moral characteristics development with IOC = 1.00; (2) 10 moral fables storytelling experiential management plan with the highest level of appropriateness, with the mean between 4.51-4.71 and S.D. between 0.43-0.51; (3) a 27-item moral characteristics observation form with IOC = 1.00 for all items and reliability index at 0.89; (4) a 25-item moral characteristics evaluation form with difficulty index between 0.57-0.78, discrimination power (r) between 0.28-0.85 and overall reliability index at 0.92. Statistics used in data analysis were mean, standard deviation and percentage.
The study yields the following results.
- The author has developed 10 moral fables storytelling experiential management plan for moral characteristics development in young children, which consist of (1) name of plan and topics; (2) learning objectives; (3) course content;
(4) moral fables storytelling experiential management activities; (5) media;
(6) evaluation; (7) post-lesson report. The aforementioned 10 experiential management plans have the highest level of appropriateness. - The result from the study of moral characteristics of young children in 5 aspects after moral fables storytelling experiential management are as follows.
2.1 The result from the observation of moral characteristics of young children in 5 aspects after the moral fables storytelling experiential management in an overall is at a high level.
2.2 The result from the evaluation of moral characteristics of young children in 5 aspects after the moral fables storytelling experiential management in an overall is at a high level.
