This study addresses the gap between environmental awareness and actual green consumption behavior, particularly in emerging markets where trust and supply chain transparency remain critical. It examines the effects of value chain management and chain trust on product trust and investigates how these factors influence green consumption intention, with product trust as a mediating variable. A quantitative design was employed using a structured questionnaire administered to 400 consumers in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. Purposive and convenience sampling were applied. All constructs were measured using a five-point Likert scale, and data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM).

The results show that value chain management (β = 0.63, p < 0.001) and chain trust (β = 0.51, p < 0.001) significantly affect product trust, which in turn influences green consumption intention (β = 0.48, p < 0.001). Both value chain management (β = 0.28, p < 0.001) and chain trust (β = 0.26, p < 0.001) also have direct effects. Mediation analysis confirms the significant mediating role of product trust. These findings highlight the importance of operational capabilities and trust mechanisms in promoting sustainable consumer behavior.
