The Outstanding Characteristics of Political Poems between 2007 and 2012

Abstract
This research aimed to study the political poems between 2007 and 2012, focusing on form, content, ideas, and literary devices as well as literary, social and political roles. In this study, selected poems published in 5 daily newspapers (Matichon, Daily News, Komchadluek, and Kao Sod, ASTV Online) and 3 weekly magazines (Matichon Sud Sapda, Nation Sud Sapda, and Siamrath Sapda Wicharn) were analyzed, using a sociological and political history approach. In terms of the content and concept comments on persons and administration policy have been prominent. They are also in the form of advice and lessons, which educate supporters from both sides to consider the situation carefully and warn them not to be the victims of any political side, demonstrating that political crisis causes tragedy. Poets have shown mankind concepts in order to deny violence. They also let Thais be aware of human value and wish Thai society to be back in peace and joyful again. Poets have adapted prosody and literary art well in order to harmoniously pass on contemporary content to Thais. Poetry has been remarkable in exercising its roles toward society, politic, and literature as poetry for life, as literature recording contemporary political history, and as tools announcing their different political ideology. Besides, poets’ opinions are distinguished as full of wisdom, power and literary style, enriched with thinking & tour de force.
