บทคัดย่อ
พลเมืองของสังคมโลกจำเป็นต้องมีทักษะศตวรรษที่ 21 ซึ่งรวมถึงทักษะการคิดวิจารณญาณ เพื่อให้สามารถดำรงชีวิตอยู่ได้ในโลกที่มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงตลอดเวลา พลเมืองจึงจำเป็นต้องพัฒนาทักษะดังกล่าวเพื่อตอบสนองต่อความต้องการของสังคมโลก โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งทักษะการคิดวิจารณญาณควรได้รับการฝึกฝน เพราะตามทฤษฎี ทักษะการคิดนี้ไม่ได้มีมาตั้งแต่กำเนิด ดังนั้นจึงควรได้รับการพัฒนาและส่งเสริม วิธีการสอนโดยการอภิปรายออนไลน์ในชั้นเรียนภาษาอังกฤษ จึงได้รับการเสนอแนะสำหรับผู้เรียนที่จำเป็นต้องใช้ทักษะการคิดดังกล่าว บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อทบทวนและอภิปรายบทบาทของทักษะการคิดวิจารณญาณ และความเป็นไปได้สำหรับการพัฒนาทักษะการคิดผ่านการอภิปรายออนไลน์สำหรับนักศึกษาไทย วิธีการที่นำเสนอในบทความนี้อาจให้แนวคิดและแนวทางแก่ผู้ที่มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องกับการศึกษาด้านภาษาอังกฤษ และการนำไปประยุกต์ใช้ในชั้นเรียนภาษาอังกฤษ
