Abstract

Developing high standard  road networks along the bech for tourists would provide convenent, speedy, and safe travelling together with beautiful views and convenient facilities. Tourists can travel beside the beautiful beaches on the eastern seaboard  viewing both existing and new places. As a result, it would ehance the tourism industy and generate increasing revenues for local communities. The objective of this study is to survey traffic volume along the tourism beaches on the eastern seaboard between Royong and Chonburi. It develops a model for  traffic analysis to predict current and  future traffic and to support a design for road structure and its facilities. Initially, the study was conductedd by reviewing the literature related to traffic volume and the transport system. It surveys traffis on travelling roads. The result shows that in five areas traffic volume can be expected to experience congestion, and consequently will have an impact on future tourism. It also reveals that if there is on development of the roads and facilities studied, the level of service (LOS) would worsen to first level or second level in the next decade. Therefore, developing the area and travelling roads would expand the road surface for traffic  and provide additional facilities.
