EDUCATION READINESS OF STUDENT OF INSTITUTE OF VOCATIONAL EDUCATION : NORTHERN REGION 1 FOR LABOR MARKET TO ASEAN

Abstract

       The study objective is for studying preparedness of undergraduate students in institute of Vocational Education: Northeastern Region 1 to access to labor market development of ASEAN Economic Community. The population in this case study are 611 undergraduate students from 5 0f 10 place of 5 provinces in institute of Vocational Education: Northeastern Region 1. The sample was setting by using the formula to calculate the sample size of Taro Yamane. We used Stratified Random Sampling for set a sample and got 241 people. We also divided by their colleges. The research tool is a questionnaire about preparedness of undergraduate students in institute of Vocational Education: Northeastern Region 1 to access to labor market development of ASEAN Economic Community (30 items). There is a rating scale according Mr. Likert Scale’s method. For example, 5 refer to the highest level, 4 refer to high level, 3 refer to moderate, 2 refer to less and 1 refer to the least. We also calculated statistical calculations, percentage, average  and standard deviation. The reliability at 0.95 by using descriptive statistics.

       The result found that the most of the populations are females. They work or train in the private sector and study in accounting major at Nongkhai Technical College at the same time. The level of general knowledge about the ASEAN community is high at 81.99%, which is the most knowledgeable in the number of ASEAN members. The level of educational attainment of the institution was at the high level of 3.90. When sorting the list from most to least, we found that the college has a study tour in the country for preparing to enter the ASEAN Economic Community. There was an average of 4.26. The college has a training course for prepare to compete in the ASEAN labor market with an average of 4.03. And the college has a training course for organize an exhibition of knowledge about the labor market of the ASEAN Economic Community with an average of 3.99. In the same way, the level of readiness of students entering the labor market of the ASEAN Economic Community was at a high level, with an average of 3.87, a standard deviation of 0.90.          When sorting the list from most to least, we found that it ready to work independently without control by a boss. There was an average of 4.05. It is ready to open the free labor market because it will be paid internationally. There was an average of 4.03. And finally, it ready to exchange study to learn about the culture between the universities in ASEAN. The suggestion for further researches are1) should study the readiness of undergraduate students in other institutions. And 2) study on the participation of school administrators on the development of the ASEAN Economic Community.
