USING STORYLINE TEACHING METHODS THROUGH THE LITERATURE OF ‘THE THREE KINGDOMS: WHEN GUAN YU SERVES CAO CAO’ IN A THAI LANGUAGE CLASS TO DEVELOP GRADE 12 STUDENTS' SELF-KNOWLEDGE-BUILDING ABILITIES

Abstract

This research aims to study the results of using storyline teaching methods through the literature of ‘The Three Kingdoms: When Guan Yu Serves Cao Cao’ in a Thai language class to develop grade 12 students' self-knowledge-building abilities. The research target group comprised of 32, grade 12 students from Kasetsart University Laboratory Scool room 6/2 in 2020. Research tools included 1) activity plan for learning ‘The Three Kingdoms: When Guan Yu Serves Cao Cao’ 2) self-knowledge-building abilities test. Statistics used in the data analysis included the index of item-objective congruence, and mean. The results showed that by using storyline teaching methods through the literature of ‘the Three Kingdoms: When Guan Yu Serves Cao Cao’ in a Thai language class to develop grade 12 students' self-knowledge-building abilities, the students’ test score mean totaled at 13.79, which means the majority of students can be considered excellent. In addition, the self-knowledge-building abilities test results (recorded three times) showed that each time a test was taken, the students had an increased assessment result from the arithmetic mean by 1.29.
