A Study of Critical Reading Ability in Lumkham-Muang-Pakham Learning Unit of Grade 7 level

Abstract

Abstract


          The objective of this study was to compare critical reading ability before and after learning  in Lumkham-Muang-Pakham learning unit of grade 7 level. The sample group were 32 grade 7 level student at Bankokmaidaenghaokrasung school, Pakham district, Buri Ram province, in the first semester of the academic year 2021. They were selected by purposive sampling. The research Instruments comprised 1) Four learning management plans in Lumkham-Muang-Pakham learning unit which were 12 hours, suitable at the highest level (= 5.00, S.D. = 0.00) 2) critical reading ability test in multiple choice (four choices) total 30 items, the item difficulty ranged between 0.25-0.69, the item discrimination ranged between 0.25-0.75, and the overall reliability was .980 The data were analyzed by using basic statistics; mean, standard deviation, and t-test for dependent samples.


The results of the research was as follow:


The critical reading ability score of the grade 7 level student in Lumkham-Muang-Pakham learning unit had significantly higher than the score before attending learning activities at .05 level
