Developing the Ability to Pronounce Diphthongs by Using Songs Combined with Graphic Diagram Techniques for Grade 6 Students

Abstract
The purposes of this research were to 1) to develop the ability to pronounce Diphthongs by using songs combined with graphic diagram techniques for grade 6 students, 2) to compare the ability to pronounce Diphthongs before and after learning by using songs combined with graphic diagram techniques for grade 6 students, and 3) to investigate student satisfaction regarding the instructional strategies for pronouncing Diphthongs by using songs combined with graphic diagram techniques for grade 6 students. The population used in this research, totaling 14 grade 6 students from Ban Bok school, which was obtained from cluster random sampling by using the Huai Kha School Network Group as the sampling unit. The research instruments were 1) lesson plans, 2) tests of student ability of pronouncing Diphthongs, and 3) assessment of student satisfaction. The statistics used were percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test dependent. The research findings were as follows: 1) the total average of the development of the ability to pronounce Diphthongs by using songs combined with graphic diagram techniques for grade 6 students was 27.84, (92.80%) which met the set criteria, 2) the comparison ability in pronouncing Diphthongs by using songs combined with graphic diagram techniques had significantly higher than that before learning at the .05 level, 3) the students were satisfied with the teaching of pronouncing Diphthongs by using songs combined with graphic diagram techniques at the highest level in all aspects.
