CITIZENSHIP DEVELOPMENT TO AN ACTIVE CITIZEN MODEL IN THE DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY OF THAILAND

Abstract

The objective of this article is to study the concept of active citizens and principles of citizen development to active citizenship models in Thai democratic society, with reasoning ability responsible morality and ethics discipline consciousness for the public selfish for the common good more than personal benefits and know all aspects and keep up with events, this article has left the challenge of citizenship that is alert in Thai society to throw away traditional customs from patronage systems, feudalism, privilege and popular power, because these systems dominate the majority of people to lead to sluggish citizens, therefore, the author suggests if it arises from the cultivation of ideas, ideologies and consciousness for the public, from institutions, families, communities, religions, the media, local administration, etc., therefore, citizens who are more eager to get involved in national development.
