STRATEGIES OF A SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION TO QUALITY DEVELOPMENT OF PHRAPARIYATTIDHAMMA GENERAL EDUCATION IN THE THREE SOUTHERN BORDER PROVINCES

Abstract

        This study aimed to 1) study the educational administrative environment, 2) create school management strategies to improve quality, and 3) propose strategies for school management to improve the quality of Phrapariyattidhamma School in the General Education Department in the three southern border provinces. This was qualitative research with fifteen key informants through in-depth interviews, two evaluators, five experts through interviews, and nine specialists via group discussion. The instruments employed were interviews, environment assessments, and focus group discussions.

The findings were as follows:

1. The external environment with the most significant opportunity is only one school in the three provinces. The obstacle is the small Thai Buddhist population. The internal environment's strengths include verifiable management with clearly defined policies for school administration. Importantly, there is only one Phrapariyattidhamma School in the General Education Department in the three southern border provinces. The internal environment's weaknesses include a limited budget and the high cost of technological materials.


2. The strategy creation results from the BCG Matrix, which led to the STARS CHANNEL, indicating that the visions, missions, goals, and strategies have been determined. The strategies consisted of three key points: 1) develop learners to meet quality standards, 2) develop school personnel to provide quality teaching and learning effectively, and 3) improve the management efficiency of the Phrapariyattidhamma School in General Education Department with effective teaching and learning, based on good governance.


3. The results of the proposed strategies showed that the first strategy developed learners to meet quality standards, the second strategy developed school personnel to provide quality teaching and learning, and the final strategy improved the management efficiency of the Phrapariyattidhamma School in the General Education Department based on good governance. These strategies can be applied to Phrapariyattidhamma school in the General Education Department in the three southern border provinces.
