The Use of Songs for Integrated Instruction of Teaching Thai Figurative Language for Learning Achievement of Matthayomsuksa 4 Students at Waweewittayakom School, Mae Suai District, Chiang Rai Province.

Abstract

          The objectives of this study were to construct and to verify the efficiency of song integrated instruction package in teaching Thai figurative language for Matthayomsuksa 4 students at Waweewittayakom School, Mae Suai District, Chiang Rai Province based on 80/80 standard criteria, to compare students’ learning achievement before and after implementation of song integrated instruction in teaching Thai figurative language and to examine the satisfaction The samples, recruited by cluster random sampling, were 28 Mattayomsuksa 4/1 students in their 1st semester of academic year 2017. The research instruments were lesson plans based on song integrated instruction for teaching Thai figurative language, achievement test on Thai figurative language, students’ satisfaction questionnaire towards the use of song integrated instruction for teaching Thai figurative language. The results showed that: 1. The 6 sets of song integrated instruction in teaching Thai figurative language for Mattayomsuksa 4 students at Waweewittayakom School, Mae Suai District, Chiang Rai Province showed the efficiency scores at 86.84/87.67 which were higher than the 80/80 standard criteria. 2. The learning achievement of students on song integrated instruction for Thai figurative language indicated that the students pre-test with the confidence level of .05. 3. The students’ satisfaction towards Thai figurative language instruction using songs, in overall, was rated at the highest ( =4.53, S.D.=0.81).
