Abstract
The purposes of this study were to investigate the relationship between transformational leadership and academic management competencies of school administrators under the Chonburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 3. The sample included 308 teachers in primary schools under the Chonburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 3 in the academic year of 2016. Based on Krejcie and Morgan Sample Size Table (Krejcie & Morgan, 1970, p. 608), the sample, derived by means of stratified random sampling, using school size as a criterion. The instrument used for collecting data was five scale rating questionnaire. The questionnaire on transformational leadership with the discriminating power of items between .21-.85 and the reliability at .95 and questionnaire on academic management competencies with the discriminating power of items between .37-.84 and the reliability at .96.
The research results were as follows;
- The transformational leadership of school administrators under the Chonburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 3, both as a whole and in each particular aspect, were found at a high level.
- The academic management competencies of school administrators under the Chonburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 3, both as a whole and in each particular aspect, were found at a high level.
- The relationship between transformational leadership and academic management competencies of school administrators under the Chonburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 3, overall there is a relationship at high level with statistical significance at the .01 level.
