Abstract

In this study, The objective is to study and find ways to promote morality and ethics to the youth in Udon Thani Province through the process of community democracy in order to strengthen the morality and ethics so that they can be born from the foundation of the community and can be built on in the future, which will lead to the improvement of the quality of life of the youth, which will become the main driving force of the province and the nation.

From the study of the promotion of morality and ethics of youth in Udon Thani Province through the community democracy process. It can present data on the demographic characteristics and level of opinion of the youth of Udon Thani Province towards the morality and ethics of the youth in the modern era. Through the community democracy process, 282 people and a sample group for small group discussions.  The results of the  study were summarized as follows: In terms of the characteristics of the target population of children and youth in the Nadi Sub-district Administrative Organization, Udon Thani Province, the number showed that the target population was mostly male, accounting for 57.80 percent, aged  between 16 – 20 years, accounting for 45.39 percent, and 176 students  ,  accounting for 62.41 percent. Through the community democracy process, it was found that the opinions of the youth as a whole were at a high level (average 4.46,   standard deviation 0.29).  Children and youth are of the opinion that they can be role models of morality and ethics at the highest level (average 4.82, standard  deviation 0.50) in terms of building morality and ethics for children and youth. Through the process of community democracy using the format of focus groups, it was found that children and youth are now very aware of moral and ethical issues. Suggestions for building courageous youth include providing textbooks or workshops on moral and ethical enhancement issues that are appropriate for their age group.  Communities should provide opportunities and create channels to participate in community development to be diverse and create channels for complaints. Reporting information about fraud or communication channels should be more diverse, both offline and online, and should also be a safe channel for informants.
