Abstract

The purposes of this research were to: (1) investigate the current state of student affairs administration in the Rajaprajanugroh Schools in Mae Hong Son Province under the Office of Special Education Administration, and (2) develop guidelines for student affairs administration in these schools. The research instruments consisted of a five-point Likert scale questionnaire, focus group discussion guidelines, and an appropriateness evaluation form for the proposed guidelines. Experts validated the questionnaire for content validity, yielding an Index of Item-Objective Congruence (IOC) ranging from 0.80 to 1.00, and it demonstrated high reliability with a Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient of 0.95. The sample comprised 107 participants, including school administrators, heads of student affairs, student affairs teachers, and dormitory teachers, selected through purposive sampling. In addition, seven experts validated the proposed guidelines. The researchers analyzed the data using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and content analysis. The findings revealed that the current state of student affairs administration consisted of five aspects. Ranked by the mean scores from highest to lowest, these were: (1) student activity promotion and development; (2) health promotion, nutrition, and student welfare scholarships; (3) the student support system; (4) student discipline, moral and ethical development; and (5) student affairs administration, risk management, and drug prevention. Based on these findings, 35 guidelines for student affairs administration were developed, comprising 8 guidelines for student activity promotion and development, 8 guidelines for health promotion, nutrition, and student welfare scholarships, 7 guidelines for the student support system, 7 guidelines for student discipline, moral and ethical development, and 5 guidelines for student affairs administration, risk management, and drug prevention. The experts evaluated all proposed guidelines as appropriate, practical, and applicable to the context of boarding schools in highland areas.
