The Development Ability and Achievement Problems Solving Based on Inquiry with Bar Model Techiques of Grade 3 Students
Main Article Content
Abstract
The objectives of this research were to 1) create and verify the lesson plan using the inquiry-based learning with the Bar model technique based on the criteria standard at 75/75, 2) compare the ability in solving mathematic problems of 3rd grade students, and 3) compare the learning achievement of 3rd grade students before and after participating the teaching activities developed. The participants were selected by using cluster random sampling method with 16 students in 3rd grade at BanKhokkokmuang School. Research instruments were 1) the lesson plan using the inquiry-based learning with the Bar model technique, 2) the test on mathematic solving problems, and 3) learning achievement test. Statistical analysis included percentage, mean, standard deviation, and attitude test statistics. Research results were as follow: 1. The effectiveness of the lesson plan using the inquiry-based learning with the Bar model technique was 77.41/76.56 according to the criteria standards set, 2. The ability to solve mathematical problems of 3rd grade students before participating the lesson was higher than after participating the lesson with statistical difference at .05, and 3) the students’ achievement scores were higher after the implementation the lesson plan with statistical difference at .05.
