Science, Ethics and the Buddhist University

Abstract
The founding of the International Association of Buddhist
Universities is in many ways an historic event, and it is an honor
to be able to share some of my thoughts with you. I would like to
begin my remarks by briefl y refl ecting on the notion of a Buddhist
University, and on the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead
for these institutions. After this brief preamble, I will to turn to my
assigned task of speaking more specifi cally about science, Buddhism
and ethics.
