Emotional Intelligence Factors of School Administrators Affecting to The Operation of Teacher According The Teacher Profession Standards in Operation under The Office of Secondary Education Service Area 21

Abstract

The purposes of this research were : 1) to study the level of the emotional intelligence factors of school administrators’ opinions under the Office of Secondary Educational Service Area 21, 2) to study the level of the teachers’ job based on the teaching professional standards according to of teachers’ opinions under the Office of Secondary Educational Service Area 21,  3) to study the correlation between emotional intelligence factors of school administrators and the teachers’ job based on the teaching professional standards under the Office of Secondary Educational Service Area 21, and 4) to create a predictive equation of the teachers’ job based on the teaching professional standards under the Office of Secondary Educational Service Area 21.


   The sample group consisted of 330 teachers selected through stratified random sampling. The research instrument was a 5 level–rating scale questionnaire with the reliabilities of the emotional intelligence factors of school administrators questionnaire and the teachers’ job based on the teaching professional standards questionnaire were .965 and .970 respectively. The statistical techniques employed for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson’s product moment correlation and Stepwise multiple regression analysis using the statistic package for social science program.


   The results were as follows:


  1. The level of emotional intelligence factors of school administrators under the Office of Secondary Educational Service Area 21 was at a high level on the whole and individual aspects.

  2. The teachers’ work based on the teaching professional standards under the Office of Secondary Educational Service Area 21 was at a high level on the whole and individual aspects.

  3. The relationship between emotional intelligence factors of school administrators and the teachers’ work based on the teaching professional standards under the Office of Secondary Educational Service Area 21 are on the whole were relationship.

  4. The analysis of the multiple regression and the construction of forecasting equation in the teachers’ work based on the teaching professional standards under the Office of Secondary Educational Service Area 21 were as follows:

   The predictive equation of raw scores:


     Y = 3.185 + .148(Yx4) + .141(Yx5)


   The predictive equation standard scores:


    Z = .296Zx4 + .266Zx5
