The Guidelines for Enhancing Household Food Security According to Khok Nong Na Model Udon Thani Province

Abstract
The purposes of this research were: 1) to study the household problems of food security according to Khok Nong Na model Udon Thani Province; and 2) to determine the guidelines for enhancing household food security according to Khok Nong Na model. The mixed-methods research was employed. The study was conducted in 2 phases: Phase 1: the samples were 192 people and the instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire. Phase 2: the key informants were 10 experts and the structured interview was employed. The content analysis was conducted. The results of the research showed that the household problems of food security according to Khok Nong Na Model overall at a highest level. The problems ranking from lowest to greatest are as follows: 1) sufficiency; 2) food accessibility; 3) utilization; and 4) food stability. The guidelines for enhancing household food security according to Khok Nong Na Model include principles, objectives, projects, activities and evaluation. A total of 4 guidelines development consisted of 12 activities include: 1) 3 activities for sufficiency; 2) 3 activities for food access; 3) 3 activities for utilization; and 4) 3 activities for food stability.
