Guidelines for Developing Community Leaders' Potential in Village Development Sufficiency Economy of Sangkom District Udonthani Province

Abstract

The purposes of this research were: 1) to study the problem of developing community leaders' potential in village development sufficiency economy; and 2) to formulate guidelines for developing community leaders' potential in village development sufficiency economy. The research was carried out in 2 main phases.  Phase 1:  studying the problem of developing community leaders' potential in village development sufficiency economy. The samples were 210 community leaders of Sangkom District. The research instrument was a questionnaire and the collected data were analyzed by percentage, frequency, mean and standard deviation. Phase 2: formulating the guidelines for developing community leaders' potential in village development sufficiency economy of the same district. The target group was 30 executives in the developing community leaders' potential in village development sufficiency economy. The research instrument was a structured interview guide and the data were summarized for the overview summary.

             The results showed that:1. overall, it was found that the mean realistic condition expected to have been lower than the expected condition in all 4 aspects. the overall was ranking from the high to lower mean scores: 1) health service inequality, 2) land ownership inequality, 3) education inequality and 4) income inequality; 2. the guideline formulation for developing community leaders' potential in village development sufficiency economy consists of principles, objectives, development activities, indicators and assessments method which has a total of assessments as follows: the guidelines to reduce inequality in all 6 areas, including: 1) understanding of sufficiency economy philosophy; 2) work process structure; 3) community management; 4) administration; 5) self-management; and 6) social administration. There are altogether 18 development activities in total.
