Development of Participatory Waste Management Model for Community: A Case Study of Lai Hin Subdistrict Municipality Ko Kha District, Lampang Province

Abstract
This research aimed at studying patterns of promotion for participation and consciousness for waste management and for developing activities to manage waste with participation from the model community to decrease the amount of waste for management by Lai Hin municipality. Data for analysis came from purposive sampling. Population was people, community representatives, group of organization in governmental sector taking responsibility in waste management in Lai Hin municipality, Lampang Province. This was qualitative research utilizing participatory action research (PAR) that was a process of studying problem, planning, monitoring- checking and summarizing. Research tools were questionnaire, and group interview. The results found that:
The patterns of promotion for participation and consciousness for waste management by Lai Hin municipality had 2 patterns which were training course and waste bank. The patterns for running activities about waste management with participation of community model for decreasing amount of waste by Lai Hin municipality found that the waste bank reduced the waste amount and burden of management for municipality, and it made participation process for community.
