Community Committee Participation in Formulating Community Plan of Bueng Kum District, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study the level of community committee participation in the formulation of community plans and compare the personal factors with the participation of the community committee in Bueng Kum District, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration in formulating a community plan classified by gender, age, education level, periods of living in the community and periods of holding a position.  The samples used in this research was 191 community committee members. A questionnaire is used for data collecting. The research’s overall confidence level is 0.967. The data were analyzed by using percentage, mean and Standard Deviation. Hypotheses were tested by using Independent Sample t-test, paired sample t-test F-test (One-way ANOVA)

The research results revealed that;

1. Most of the committees are female, 41-60 years of age, have secondary / upper secondary / equivalent education. Have a residence period of 15 years or more and periods of holding a position less than 3 years.
2. The level of community committee participation in the formulation of community plans of Bueng Kum District, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration was overall and in each aspect at a highest quality  ( =3.82,S.D.=0.776), by the participation in operations, participation in decision, participation in receiving benefits and participation in evaluation.
3. The comparison of personal factors and community committee participation in community planning in Bueng Kum District Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. Classified by personal factors, it was found that gender, age, education levels, periods of living in the community and periods of holding a position were different.
