Developing a Public Library to be a Learning Organization BuengKum District Office, Bangkok

Abstract

Thepurpose of this research was to develop the operation of public library to be a Learning Organization Bueng Kum District Office, Bangkok and to compare personal factors towards developing a public library to be a learning organization Bueng Kum District Office, Bangkok. In the study of public library development classified by gender, age, occupation, educational level and monthly income. A sample group used in this study was 382 users of the public library Bueng Kum District Office, Bangkok. Example is calculated by using the Taro Yamane formula, using questionnaires as a research tool.Collect data and statistics used for data analysis, including frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation. The statistics used in the comparative analysis are t-test in the case of two independent variables and one-way analysis of variance. In the case that there are more than 2 independent variables at the statistical significant level of 0.05

The results of the research showed that most of the public library users are female whose age is under18 years, as a student studying in high school - diploma level and a monthly income is 10,000 - 15,000. The development level of the public library to be a learning organization of the public library Bueng Kum District Office, amount 4 sides. In general, the development level of the public library to be a learning organization is at a high level (x ̅ = 4.17, S.D. = 0.877). When considered in each aspect, it was found that the highest mean was the organization of activities with the development (x ̅  = 4.33, S.D = 0.837). Next is the buildings, facilities and public library resources. (x ̅ = 4.30, S.D. = 0.890) and the lowest mean is the community relations (x ̅  = 3.86, S.D. = 0.935). The comparison of personal factors on the development of public libraries to be learning organizations Bueng Kum district office, Bangkok was classified by personal factors, gender, age, occupation, educational level and monthly income are different, affect the development level of the public library to be a learning organization which is significantly different at 0.05
