Abstract

This article aims to study the application with the principle of the 4 exertions (Padhana) and the promotion of floating traditions of the Buddhist community in Ban Ba Sub-district, Tha Tum District, Surin Province. By studying documents and field studies. The study indicated that applying work principles in Buddhism, which is the source of education about the doctrine of the Padhana, describes 4 perseverance: 1) the effort of avoiding (Sanvara-padhana), 2) the effort to overcome (Pahana- padhana), 3) the effort to develop (Bhavana-padhana) and 4) the right exertions (Anurakkhana-padhana). The 4 exertions (Padhana), which consists of these diligences, will make the organization of the unfounded traditions proceed with care and caution. To prevent it from occurring using Buddhist principles according to the 4 exertions (Padhana) are:- 1) the effort of avoid (Sanvara-padhana) since the use of the principle of praying that you will stand firm on the good after releasing the lantern into the sky, creating the consciousness within the minds of the people in the local society, 2) the effort to overcome (Pahana-padhana) is to ignore and eliminate bad thoughts. The mind is pure and purified. It cleanses the mind in the mind, the badness that is gone. It does not contain lust, which is associated with beliefs about the traditions of floating lanterns, after floating lanterns into the sky according to the beliefs of traditions that will result in changes in life and living in a better direction. Contribute to greater social sustainability 3) the effort to develop (Bhavana-padhana) is The diligence that creates traditionally unfounded activities and the participation of society within the local community leads to unity within the community and various activities are organized in which everyone in the community participates and is a driving force for Support until the inheritance of unfounded traditions and clearly 4)the right exertions (Anurakkhana-padhana) is the perseverance and preservation of the dharma that has happened to stand firm and grow until Embracing the principles of a permanent shutdown of a tradition that takes place in the Buddhist community Chiba District Surin Province Tha Tum district today.
