The Roles of School Management in Digital Era for Administrators District Centers of The Non-Formal and Informal Education Under The Amnat Charoen Province Office of Non-Formal and Informal Education

Abstract

          This research aims to (1) study the roles of school administration in the digital era of school administrators and (2) explore the approaches to developing school administration in the digital era of school administrators. The sample group consisted of teachers and educational personnel working in the Non-Formal and Informal Education Centers under the jurisdiction of the Non-Formal and Informal Education Provincial Office, Amnat Charoen Province, totaling 103 participants. A total of 97 participants responded to the questionnaire, accounting for 94.17 per cent. The interview participants included the Director of the Non-Formal and Informal Education Provincial Office, Amnat Charoen Province; the directors of Non-Formal and Informal Education Centers at the district level; and supervisors working under the Non-Formal and Informal Education Provincial Office, Amnat Charoen Province.

            The findings were as follows:

1. The school management roles of administrators in the digital era were high, ranking excellence of professional practice, digital citizenship, leadership with vision, and systematic work improvement. The aspect with the lowest mean score was building a learning culture in the digital era.
2. Important guidelines on development of school management roles of administrators were 1) In the aspect of leadership with vision, the guideline on the development of school management in digital era, administrators should use internet medias for communication, by using modern technology such as computers, both desk and portable computers, and mobile phones like smart phones; 2) In the aspect of building learning culture in digital era, administrators should inspire all school personnel, individually, to be able to apply information and communication technology to create innovations for learning management or work; 3) In the aspect of excellence of professional practice, administrators should promote and support teachers and personnel to join training related to digital technology; 4) In the aspect of systematic work improvement, administrators should redesign evaluation systems by using technology to reduce redundancies, errors, and time in order to realize organizational efficiency in digital era; and 5) In the aspect of digital citizenship, administrators should be good models of digital skills, knowledge, uses of digital technology appropriately and profitably for stability and safety.
