The Participation of People in The Prevention of Influenza Outbreak in the Border Area of Ban Kao Sub-District Mueang District Kanchanaburi Province

Abstract

This article aimed to study 1) the participation in the prevention of influenza outbreaks in the border area. 2) factors related to participation in the prevention of influenza outbreaks in the border area of Ban Kao sub-district of Mueang district Kanchanaburi province Because community participation is important, engaging the public provides another avenue to enhance successful outcomes. Moreover, receiving social support contributes to sustainable influenza prevention efforts in border areas. This research is a cross-sectional survey research. Tools used to collect data The researcher used a self-administered questionnaire. The data was collected between November 11–30, 2023. Statistics used in data analysis include frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Qui-square analysis and Pearson's correlation coefficient. The research results found that

1) The participation in the prevention of influenza outbreaks was at a high level, 36.6 percent, followed by a moderate level, 35.7 percent, and a low level, 27.7 percent.

2) Factors related to participation in the prevention of influenza outbreaks in the border area of Ban Kao sub-district of Mueang district Kanchanaburi province. Statistically significant (P-Value<0.05) includes age, monthly income, level of education, vaccination history against influenza among family members in the past 2 years, knowledge about influenza prevention, and social support for preventing the spread of influenza.
