The Development of English Speaking Skills Using Role Play Activities for Vocational Certificate 2 Students at Kanthararom Technical College Sisaket Province

Abstract

        The objectives of this research were 1) to study the efficiency of the learning management plan using role-playing activities for Vocational Certificate 2 according to the criterion 80/80, 2) to compare English speaking skills before and after learning, and 3) to study students satisfaction with learning management using role-playing activities. The sample used in this research included Vocational Certificate 2 students at Kanthararom Technical College and Vocational Certificate 2 students 25, using cluster random sampling. There were five research tools:   1) Learning management plans using role-play activities for Vocational Certificate 2 Student for five plans. 2) English speaking skills test of Situation simulation type 5 Situation simulation. 3) The satisfaction questionnaire with learning has 15 items. The statistics included mean, standard deviation, and (t-test) dependent samples.

              The research results were as follows:

1. The efficiency of the learning management plans using role-play activities.  It had an efficiency of 81.20/81.53, meeting the specified criteria.
2. English speaking skills after learning were higher than before, with statistical significance at the .05 level.
3. Students' satisfaction with learning management was at the highest level. particularly in terms of the enjoyable learning atmosphere and the development of their confidence in speaking.

            The research findings indicate that the use of role-playing activities effectively enhances the English-speaking skills of vocational certificate students. Additionally, these activities foster students' interest and confidence in using English. This study suggests integrating role-playing activities into other subjects to promote learning in diverse contexts that are more closely connected to students' everyday lives.
