Decision-Making for School Administrators

Abstract

In the current situation, school administrators' decision-making is critical. This is because the school administrator's decision is a critical component of the educational institution's administration in accordance with established standards. The decision-making process is thus an important process for school administrators who need to know the approaches, principles, and theories of decision-making to fulfill the organization's objectives. The process is used in decision-making in a variety of situations encountered in school administration. The following is the decision-making procedure: 1) Identify the Problem 2) Generate Alternatives 3) Evaluate Alternatives 4) Choose the Alternatives 5) Implement the Decision) and 6) Valuate the Decision, and every phase of procedure is reversible. Additionally, school administrators can apply a decision-making model to each situation arising in their own administration. There are as follows: 1) The Rational Model 2) The Administrative Model 3) The Incremental Model) 4) Mixed Scanning Model) and 5) The Garbage Can Model. As a result, the decision of the school administrators is critical in organizational management because it is the primary responsibility, school administrators must have a thorough understanding of the decision-making process. This assists to the organization's modification or resolution of problems, and the decision's outcome is satisfying and acceptable to subordinates.
