PUBLIC POLICY WITH DELIMITATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AREA OF THAILAND

Abstract

            This academic article aims to demonstrate the relations between public policy and delimitation of environmental protection area in Thailand. It is a policy to conserve natural resources and the environment for reducing pollution of country and reducing greenhouse effect of the earth at present. Delimitation of environmental protection area policy in Thailand was implemented to ten areas. Delimitation of environmental protection area of Thailand was done by issuing ministerial regulations to enforcement for people and the government agency in that area, Then the government agency has to restrict some rights for people who live in the delimitation of environmental protection area to make that policy achieves the objective for conserving natural resources and the environment.


            Before formulating


the policy, the government agency must allow people in that area to participate in the policy formulation and to acknowledge basic information and people’s needs in that area. In order to decrease the impact to people in that area, before the implementation based on the concept of New Public Service (NPS). When people were restricted some rights for the people in the delimitation of environmental protection area, the government agency has to remedy the affected people in order to kind the consensus in policy formulation. As a result, the delimitation of environmental protection area policy in Thailand will be put into practice.
