The development of a Thai language teaching management model using active learning concepts to enhance the reading skills of Pali language students in Samut Prakan province

Abstract

This research aims to 1) study the components of Thai language teaching model using active learning concept and 2) design Thai language teaching model using active learning concept. 3) Experiment with the Thai language teaching model using the active learning concept. 4) Evaluate the Thai language teaching model using the active learning concept to promote reading skills of Pali language students in Samut Prakan Province. This research was used as a research and development. The sample consisted of 132 Pali language students at levels 1-2. The tools were: 1. Document analysis form 2. Interview form for experts 3. Pali student questionnaire. and 4. Thai language teaching model using active learning concept to promote reading skills of Pali language students in Samut Prakan Province. Data analysis included content analysis, mean (ð‘ĨĖ…) and standard deviation (S.D.). The research findings reveal that 1. The components of the model are (1) Principles (2) Objectives (3) Teaching and Learning Processes (4) Measurement and Evaluation, and (5) Success Conditions. 2. Designing a Thai language teaching management model using proactive learning concepts to enhance the reading skills of Pali language students in Samut Prakan Province, it was found that 1. The results of the suitability assessment of the Thai language teaching management model using proactive learning concepts to enhance reading skills of Pali language students were at a high level (M=4.46, S.D.=0.53) 2) The results of the suitability assessment of the manual for utilizing the Thai language teaching management model using proactive learning concepts to enhance reading skills of Pali language students were at the highest level 3) The results of the pilot group experiment using the Thai language teaching management model using proactive learning concepts were at a high level (M=4.24, S.D.=0.64)  3. The results of the experiment using the Thai language teaching management model based on the concept of active learning to enhance reading skills of Pali language students showed that their reading skill level in Pali was at the highest level. When considering each aspect, it was found that their understanding of Pali language vowels was at the highest level. The evaluation of satisfaction regarding the Thai language teaching management model based on the concept of active learning to enhance reading skills of Pali language students in Samut Prakan province was also at the highest level. 4. The results of the evaluation and certification of the Thai language instructional model-which utilizes active learning concepts to enhance the reading skills of Pali language students-were at a high level.
