Developing guidelines for protecting oneself from drug addiction problems among police cadets

Abstract

This research aims to develop guidelines of self-protection from drug violence problems of police constable students.  The research conducted by using qualitative documenting research, in-depth interviews and group discussion with 10 special professionals with descriptive analysis. The analysis demonstrated the guideline for self-protection such as 1) Awareness training, learning and practicing about drug violence, procedure of protection and solution of drug problem. The police student was simulated and role play in order to find problem and solution together with their peers and made responsible choices, thus, police students can learn and being aware of the dangers of drugs violence to acquire proficiency working under intense pressure. Moreover, the police student would be developed self-defense skills, realized their behavior and attitude in drug prevention without being persuaded or induce by friend or relative. It is important not try to use drugs or being persuaded in the wrong way. In addition, the factors of success of the police student to protect of themselves from drug violence is supervisory of supervisors which the police student should behave and strictly follow the regimen and discipline as provided in the National Police Act.
