Abstract

This research aimed to 1) analyze the operational state of school administrators based on the School as Learning Community (SLC) concept using user experience research, 2) develop an administrative model for demonstration schools in public universities as schools as learning communities using design-based research, and 3) examine the appropriateness and feasibility of the developed administrative model. The research was conducted in three phases. The target group in Phase 1 consisted of 5 administrators, in Phase 2 of 70 administrators and teachers, and in Phase 3 of 657 participants. The research instruments were an interview form and a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using content analysis, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and conjoint analysis. The results revealed that the experiences of school administration based on the SLC concept included administration in accordance with the policies of the parent organization, participation in determining administrative guidelines, providing opportunities for everyone to participate, and using classrooms as shared learning spaces, among others. Crossing the sub-attributes of the school administration guidelines yielded a total of 18 model profiles. The appropriateness of the administrative model for demonstration schools in public universities had a mean score of 74 (96.10%), indicating that the manual was appropriate at a good level. Its feasibility had a mean score of 75 (97.40%), indicating that the manual was feasible at a good level.
