THE SCHOOL DIRECTORS’ ACADEMIC LEADERSHIP IN NAKLANG 2 NETWORK OF EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT CENTRE

Abstract

This study aims to explore academic leadership and the pathway of academic-leadership development of the school directors, who work for the schools in Naklang 2 Network of Educational Development Centre under Nongbualamphu Primary Educational Service Area Office 2. The participants were categorized depending on gender and working experiences. Additionally, the research instruments used for gathering the data consist of a rating scale questionnaire containing five levels, including 30 items. Accordingly, the discrimination index is between 0.27–0.73. Besides, the IOC of the questionnaire shows 0.67-1.00, where the congruence of the questionnaire is related to the research purposes. According to the research aims, the data was investigated from the samples containing 9 schools (192 people). The statistics used in this study are frequency, percentage, mean (X), and standard deviation (SD).The result shows that the academic leadership of the school directors in Naklang 2 Network of Educational Development Centre is at the level of MORE in teaching and learning management, the school’s mission, and the school’s academic climate support aspects, respectively. Furthermore, the study’s results of other minor aspects are also at the level of MORE, i.e., the coordination of curriculum use, learning aid management, school’s goal communication, and the teachers’ academic leadership encouragement aspects, respectively.
