A STUDY OF CHANGES IN THE KAREN PAGAGAYAW, BAN MAE HOH COMMUNITY, MAE HOH SUB-DISTRICT, MAE SARIANG DISTRICT, MAE HONG SON PROINCE

Abstract

The objective of this research article is to study the historical change a factors that cause change of the Karen people, Ban Mae Ho, Mae Sariang District, Mae Hong Son Province. The population used to study is population in Ban Mae Ho community, Mae Sariang District, Mae Hong Son Province, 30 people. The tools used in this qualitative research are 4 open-ended questionnaires, consisting of 1.general information about interviewees of the Ban Mae Hoa community context of life conditions of Ban Mae Hoa community, factors that cause changes within the Ban Mae Ho community By analyzing data from data collection from interviews, reference and comparing information in other research was conducted.

The research found that Thai people, Karen Mountain, Ban Mae Ho have a different way of life that was previously used. Whether in terms of internal factors of society or external factors arising from the flow of change according to the modern era both result in the change. These factors cause both positive and negative impacts to the Mae Hoa community in parallel. The reason is because social and cultural systems of human beings are constantly connected.
