Opinions on Political Culture of the Officers of Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (Egat), Mae Moh, Lampang Province

Abstract

The objectives of this thematic paper to study, to compare and to study problems and solutions. The research sampling subjects were the officers of Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), totally 340, selected by stratified sampling. Tools for data collection were questionnaires. Statistics for data analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test and F-test. Results of the research were as follows : The opinions on political culture of the officers of Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), Mae Moh, Lampang Province, were rated in two aspects at a medium level. The officers, who differed in sex, age, level of education and monthly income, did differ in opinions on political culture in the two aspects, with statistical significance at 0.05, which was not consistent with the hypothesis.

            The process and step of decision-making must be checked under regulations,  the implementation was usually carried out using no public hearing or strategies but exercising one’s own power to benefit oneself. In doing so, the project was made to have passed public hearing process without true hearing of people’s opinions, the operation should be reduced; there should be a process of regular consultations in order and committees of different offices. For instance, the conducting of public hearing for various projects had to have passed public acceptance, and to be publicized.
